How to install and run TTS on a Raspberry Pi 3+4

Hi, I spent some time figuring out how to install and use TTS on a Raspberry Pi 3 and 4 (64 bit). Here are the steps:

• pip install tts
• pip install torch==1.11.0 torchaudio==0.11.0
• pip install numpy==1.22.4
• sudo apt install llvm-9
• LLVM_CONFIG=llvm-config-9 pip install numba==0.51.2
• manually download your model and unzip it into $USER/.local/share/tts/
• download the .models.json and place it in the app directory

Code to test with a German model:

Hello there
I am following these instructions for a model and config that I trained on the Google Collab sheet, but it fails with a "Process finished with exit code 132 (interrupted by signal 4: SIGILL)"

Do you know what causes this? It means that the assembly language is missing the instruction to continue, but I don't know how to work around this

Trying to install your suggested numpy version 1.22.4 on RPi 4B 64 bit results in
tts 0.12.0 requires numpy==1.21.6; python_version < "3.10", but you have numpy 1.22.4 which is incompatible.
numba 0.55.1 requires numpy<1.22,>=1.18, but you have numpy 1.22.4 which is incompatible.

And numba version results in
tts 0.12.0 requires numba==0.55.1; python_version < "3.10", but you have numba 0.51.2 which is incompatible.
tts 0.12.0 requires numpy==1.21.6; python_version < "3.10", but you have numpy 1.22.4 which is incompatible.
resampy 0.4.2 requires numba>=0.53, but you have numba 0.51.2 which is incompatible

You may require to add
pip install resampy==0.3.1
as well if you have a newer version installed. I had this issue and now it works! I need to do more training (somehow) but it at least does not crash. Thank you for posting this

Very encouraging to read it. I spent many hours trying to get it to work today, but no luck. Will try a bit more (trying on a raspberry pi zero, btw)

Hi @padmalcom , i've just seen this discussion again 🙃. Btw. if you still use my Thorsten model i'd recommend you using the DDC or VITS model over the first DCA model as these models have a way better quality (imho).
