The toolbar button has fixed itself permanently to the right of the Google search bar and I cannot move or remove it like I can other interface buttons. I've restarted my browser

I too am experiencing this issue. I don't use LiveReload often enough to merit its presence in my toolbar, I'd like to move it to the add-on bar. Odd that this doesn't work :(

Still happening in FF29, but...
I have a solution! The problem would appear to be coming from lines 13 through 15 in browser.xul.

I can confirm (I edited my own XPI opened as a zip) that removing these lines removes the locked-in-place button, but it still allows for the other button to function perfectly fine! There might be some CSS that also goes along with this that needs to be removed. I will look into it further tomorrow and create a pull request.

The new version of the Firefox extension (fixing this bug) is released now. Unfortunately, I have permanently lost my Firefox update private key, so the extension won't autoupdate; you need to redownload it from livereload.com/extensions/.
